Got blindsided since it's been a while since a new Sumeru chara got introduced. Even considering how boring soshage chara designs usually are she's a certainly high level case. Mizuki Nana and Kuwashima Houko are among my favorite seiyuu and they both feel kinda wasted on Nefer and Shikanee respectively. You should watch Cross Ange if you never did btw, it's one of the best anime of the 2010s after Pretty Rhythm.
We'll never talk enough about how stereotypical and melaninless Genshin designs can be, and it's always a good thing to analyze the orientalism etc. However I wish I could talk about the history of chara design in detail and why things are so racist in the first place in so many anime-styled works. I already pitched something like this at multiple editors but I never got a reply. I'm not giving up though.
Anyway I'm writing something about my impressions on Genshin's Crossbell arc so far, insha Allah I'll have it out on Wednesday when Crossbell patch 2 releases.
