The Event And Styles/Memorias Release Order in EN Heaven Burns Red is Puzzling
I'm sure the EN Yostar team is doing their best. Decisions are out of their hands and taken by highers up. It really sucks.
The EN version has been released one year ago now, and I don't follow its news closely, but I know the banner release pace has been really fast. I used to think that they want to catch up with the Asia version as soon as possible but I don't really get what's the plan anymore.
Obviously the high pace release of new banners etc has been stressing EN players, who never have the time to save free gems for specific banners. EN players should have an "advantage" in how they should be able to know which banner will come next a long time in advance, looking at what happened in Asia version. The problem is EN version is not following the same release order. And I don't think that this is counterbalanced by the fact that in EN version, all banners share the same pity count. (I'm not even sure anymore, I think they do right? I could launch the game and check but for some reason the EN version of Hebuban always stays frozen on the Yostar logo for like 10 minutes before launching on my PC. Assuming I don't have to do an update and 4 hours long files check first. I don't know why I have so many problems with the launcher and if it's just me or not).
Skip the next 2 paragraphs if you're a regular.
(BTW, I recommend never spending money on a sociage/gacha game. It's rarely worth it. Wait till you have enough free gems. Wait for banner reruns. If you really wanna spend, you should only do so when you know exactly what you're going to get. Be it getting things like battle passes, or aiming for the pity from the start. Never roll in the dark.
Obviously the best thing to do in the first place is to just play non gacha games. If I was president, gacha mechanics would be forbidden and it'd be forbidden to play gacha games if you haven't played a certain amount of games and watched certain anime yet. This way you don't easily get your heart stolen by the nth legally distinct female Vergil and don't feel like spending money just to pull her. (The last popular example is that kitsune girl in ZZZ, Miyabi or something). Like I always say, Genshin is one of the worst gacha games ever when it comes to making players pull new characters. It's one of the sole games where after pulling a new character you can't use them right away. You have to do extra chores. Sadly the vast majority of Genshin players never played another gacha game before, sometimes it's even their first JRPG or first game period. So they get gotcha'ed easily.)

Some of the Events were released in a different order than in the Asia version too. Maybe because they were translated and adapted first? I don't get the decision making at all.
I don't know if it's purely for marketing and making as much money as possible, or if there are some story/gameplay logics I don't grasp.
For example I don't get why they released the Nanamin Rider Style/Memoria now, right after releasing the first Operation Perseus Suppression Mission, all while the 2nd Angel Beats event is still ongoing till December 11. If you check replies on Twitter, many EN players are rightfully complaining about how they just spent all their gems on the second Angel Beats collab.

Nanamin Rider Style was released in February 2025 on the JP version, for the game's 3rd anniversary, and for the release of the third and last Suppression Mission, not the first one. There are a ton of other Styles/Memories that released before Nanamin in the JP version that they haven't released in the EN one yet. Including the Memorias from the 3rd Angel Beats collab, which was in December 2024 in Asia version.
This makes the game balance a bit weird too, as some Memorias that will get released later will feel really underwhelming in comparison because they were released before Nanamin originally.
It's not all bad at least. I already mentioned in past articles and videos that some of the changes in EN versions are pretty good. The game's EN translation seems really good too from what I've seen of it so far.
And it's nice they try to explain some of the decisions with the "Localization Changes" posts on social media too. Though again, it's a bit weird, because ALL of the game's updates are lumped together in the "Localization Changes" announcement posts. When technically, many of these updates are changes that actually happened in the Asian version over the years. They should properly separate the news between "updates" and "localization changes". Or else it gives the wrong idea that the Yostar version of the game is always significantly better.
Feels bad for the Hebuban EN PR team having to put out dumb statements like this out of obligation&deal with their superiors' weird decisions How can you blame ppl for "leaking unreleased content" when the Asian version is ahead by ~15 months QRT is me Leaking Content bsky.app/profile/aiya...

There was also that completely stupid incident in mid 2025 with the Yostar higher-ups complaining about people "leaking" content when talking about the Asia version.
Anyway, thanks for reading. If any EN Yostar staff ever read this, I hope you won't take it the wrong way, and I know how it's like to work under bad managers and bad decision makers.
