Pre-release thoughts and hype for Iris Odyssey, charming looking visual novel by new Japanese studio Eisnid
Short video focusing on a single subject this week, because I didn't have the time to prepare much and it was getting late when recording.
Like I said several times in the video, sadly I forgot how I first heard about this game in the first place. I assume some JP indie dev I follow on Twitter or some indie publisher like Waku Waku Games retweeted it. I have the game's official twitter on my news list for over a year, and on March 23 2026 they announced the full game is coming out on May 29, so that's why I decided to talk about it now.
I quickly checked the staff and since I don't really know anyone in there, I ended up not talking about them at all. I only talked about the seiyuu a little. I'm not very familiar with them either, but know some of the series they've been on.
Full title is Iris Odyssey Pandora no Shoujo in Japanese. In English the subtitle is Hephaistos' Ring. There's probably some relation but I'm not gonna look it up.
Anyway, really charming looking game, I hope it'll be good. There is a demo out already going up to Chapter 2, but I'd rather just play the full game in one go. Like I said at the end of the video, I tend to prioritize playing older games I always wanted to play since I was a kid, especially when it comes to ADV, galge, bishoujo games etc, so I don't think I'll play this at release. But I definitely wanna try it out one day.
